Mrs. Rhoda Jones Dies At Collins; Rites On Friday

Mrs. Rhoda Jones, 92 year old Collins woman died Tuesday morning at 11:35 at her home in Collins following a two year illness. She was a lifetime Collins resident and the daughter of John and Ann Angelo Thompson.

Mrs. Jones, a charter member of the Collins Church of Christ, is survived by two step-sons, Clarence E. Jones of Merced, California and C. Cecil Jones of San Jose, California; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Velma) Boozell of Collins, three grandson, 14 great grandsons and six great great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and one brother.

Funeral services will be held from the Collins Church of Christ Friday, Nov. 24 at 1:30 with the Rev. Wilton M. Grant officiating. Burial will be in the Collins Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada until noon Friday when the body will be taken to the church in Collins.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Although the obituary does not mention it, Rhoda Ellen Thompson was married twice. She married (1) Byron Cooper on 19 January 1902 in Collins, Story County, Iowa and (2) Eli Edward Jones on 31 December 1905 in Collins, Story County, Iowa.
