The community was deeply concerned Tuesday last week, to learn that Mrs. Frances Cole had passed away at her home at 7:30 o'clock. Mrs. Cole had been in poor health for a number of months and had had two severe sick spells during the fall from which she had never completely relied. She had eaten a hearty supper Tuesday evening, but shortly after the meal was taken ill. The family physician was called but she passed away in a few minutes. Mrs. Cole had resided in Maxwell and vicinity all her life and was the oldest of the large family of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Gamble, who resided for many years in Indian Creek township. She leaves to mourn her, her daughter, Miss Iva Lou Cole, and several brothers and sisters. Her funeral was held Thursday afternoon from the Presbyterian church. The floral offerings were very beautiful. Six of her nephews served as pall bearers and were Ralph Tipton of Nevada, Van and George Gamble, Claire Fish of Collins, Sidney Sherman and Maurice Richardson. A large number of relatives from away attended the funeral.
