Last Rites for Dr. Frank H. Conner Saturday Afternoon

Funeral services for Dr. F. H. Conner, Nevada physician for more than 47 years, were largely attended at the Morfoot Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 1:30 with the Reverend J. D. Ransom of Central Presbyterian church and the Nevada Masonic lodge officiating at the last rites.

Mrs. Arthur Hale was at the organ playing appropriate hymns.

The funeral home was banked with the beautiful flowers which were mutely expressive of the high esteem and affection in which the deceased was held in a community in which he had served nearly half a century.

Pall bearers were Glen Newton, R. A. Davis, Kermit Anderson, Harold Tipton, H. A. Dana and L. R. Bassett.

The Masonic committal service was held at the graveside with A. M. Christy in charge of the impressive service.

In attendance at last rites were many members of the medical profession among which group were Dr. W. B. Armstrong and Dr. McFarland, Sr., of Ames.

Relatives here from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gray and John and John Bradbury of Oskaloosa, Chester Bradbury of Alliance, Neb. and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rachofsky of Grand Junction, Maxine Peterson, R. N., and Helen Lang, R. N., of Des Moines were also in attendance at the funeral services.

The following obituary was read by Reverend Ransom:

"Frank Howard, son of John and Edith Conner, was born in a log cabin in Mahaska county, Iowa, Feb. 14, 1866, and died Jan. 30, 1946, at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 2 weeks. He was the third child of a family of four and was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother.

Dr. Conner graduated from Penn College in Oskaloosa in 1895 and from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of the University of Illinois in 1898. He started the practice of his profession in Nevada in the summer of 1898, and continued his practice until his recent illness. He was married in Courtland, New York to Jane D. Peck, Sept. 2, 1903. Two sons were born to this union. The elder died in infancy, and the other, John D. survives.

Dr. Conner was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and charter member of Twentieth Century Club. He was a member of the American State and county medical societies. He is survived by his son, John, and granddaughter, Ellen."
