Heart Attack Takes Life Of Elza Conder, 64
Elza Conder, 64, a resident of the Nevada Hotel here, died suddenly of a heart attack while operating a tractor at the home of a sister, Mrs. H. E. New, at about 7:15 a.m. today.
Harry New, who was working in the field with Conder at the time, said the latter fell from the tractor after it had started a turn. The New farm is located about three miles northeast of Nevada.
Mr. Conder, who had resided in Story county virtually he entire life, was born on Feb. 1, 1891 in Lexington, Ill., the son of Walter and Anna Conder. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include one brother, Elmo, of Nevada and two sisters, Mrs. H. E. New and Mrs. Leslie Toot, both of Nevada. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral rites will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home here at 3:30 p.m. Saturday with Dr. C. N. Swihart, pastor of the St. Paul's Lutheran church of Fernald officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.
