Oma Wierson Bauge was born on April 25, 1922 in Kossuth, county, Iowa to Otis and Angeline (Sheldahl) Wierson. She was baptized at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elmore, MN and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland, Iowa. She graduated from Roland High School in 1939. On May 26, 1942 Oma married Donald Bauge and to this union three sons were born, Jerrol, Michael and Allen.

Oma was employed at Bourns, Inc. for 29 years before retiring in 1986. Later she was employed part-time at the Madrid Home and later at Huxley Cleaners.

Oma was a member of Fjeldberg Lutheran Church, WELCA and Rebekah Circle. She loved flowers, nature, reading and especially enjoyed writing poetry, having some poems published in books by International Library of Poetry, Famous Poets Society, Impressions from Iowa and Lyrical Iowa. Oma was a member of The Poetry Association, where some of her poems can be found online. She made a book of her poems as well as a book of Memories for her family.

Oma passed away February 24, 2018 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames at the age of 95.

The remaining to cherish her memory includes her son Jerrol of Slater, three grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Delores (Norman) Robinson of Knoxville and Patricia (Harlan) Hall of Roland; a sister-in-law, Beverly Wierson of Huxley as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Oma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; two sons, Allen and Michael; three brothers, Darrel, Arnold “Bud” (Marilyn) and Wesley; a sister, Arlene (Joe) Shore; a grandson, Shayne; a granddaughter, Tammy Shaw and a great-great grandson, Jared.
