Death of J. S. Holcomb.

On Tuesday at about 1:50 P. M., J. S. Holcomb suddenly passed away after only a few hours illness. He had been down in the morning, getting his mail and transacting some business, and about 10:30 complained to someone that he was not feeling well so went hoe trying to get relief by the use of home remedies which were of no avail. A doctor was called just before dinner who examined him giving him some medicine, expecting same to benefit him shortly. A little dinner was eaten after which he sat in a rocking chair for about an hour then got up, went near the stove, standing there a bit, and finally went to the lounge to lie down, which he did, dying a few minutes later. He had been suffering off and on for about two years with heart trouble, but not until the last did they think it any thing serious.

The funeral was held at two o'clock this Friday afternoon at the Evangelical church of which he was a member, Rev. C. H. Stauffacher officiating. Interment was made in the Zearing cemetery.
