OBITUARY

DEATH OF MRS. CARL BYE.

Mrs. Carl Bye died this morning at the home in this city of her son Mr. A. Bye, after an illness extending over a year and caused by cancer of the stomach. She was born in Christiana, Norway, 59 years and 4 months ago, and came to this country alone when she was only fifteen years ago. She had, however, an elder sister in Illinois, to whom she went. Later they came to Iowa, Mrs. Bye married here and has lived in Story and Hardin counties for a great part of her life. She leaves four daughters, one of them Mrs. J. C. Elston and the others unmarried. Her funeral will be conducted at two o'clock Tuesday from the Friends church by Dr. Bunce.
