Death of Mrs. Seymour

Mrs. A. Seymour, mother of Mrs. J. W. Bateman, died Tuesday, June 4th, at the Bateman home in Milford township, aged about seventy years; her funeral was conducted by Rev. A. M. Shea of Ames; and the burial was in the Nevada cemetery, Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Seymour lived in and around Nevada for many years, their latest home here being the place on Second Avenue North just east of the cemetery. This place they left a year and a half ago to go and visit relatives in Illinois, thence they returned to the Bateman home and there Mrs. Seymour suffered an attack of pneumonia some months ago, the secondary effects of which proved fatal. "Mrs. Seymour was a truly worthy woman," say they who knew her, and those who knew her best seem to have esteemed her most. The S. M. Melrose family attended from Nevada the obsequies of their friend and neighbor.
