Mrs. Alice C. Murphey of Pipestone, Minnesota, sends particulars of the death of her son, Walter, the eldest born of her family of seven, who at the age of eighteen and a half years, was suddenly cut off by an accident, February 27th last. The breaking of a rod connected with a power feed mill sent pieces flying, one of which struck the head of young Murphey, ten feet away. Promising manhood and parental reliance were thus cut off. The young man's life began in Milford township, Story county, and friends of the family in these parts will sympathize with the sorrow death has brought to them.
