OBITUARY

DEATH OF JAMES GIBSON.

James Gibson, one of the pioneer citizens of the county, died at his home in Franklin township, near Gilbert Station Saturday afternoon, June 2nd, 1906. Mr. Gibson came from Illinois Grove in the middle sixties and located on the farm which has since been his continuous residence. He was a man of ability, integrity and thrift and in all respects a worthy and highly respected citizen. He is survived by his wife, a sister of Mrs. Wm. Handsaker* of this city, one son, James A. Gibson of the same township and an invalid daughter at the parental home. The late Mrs. Walter Rainbolt was another daughter. The funeral services will be held this afternoon and the burial follow in the Gilbert cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Handsaker of this city and possibly other representatives of the Handsaker family from Richland are in attendance at the obsequies.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Margaret (Wyatt) Gibson was the wife of the deceased. One of her sisters was Emily Frances (Wyatt) Handsaker, wife of William Handsaker, as stated. They were the daughters of Reuben Wyatt and Mary Ellsworth.
