Boy Accidentally Shot by Brother
Saturday forenoon, occurred one of the saddest accidents that ever happened in this part of the country, when Henry the 12 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Heard, south of town was accidentally shot by his little 8 year old brother. Mr. Heard was going to the barn to shoot a sick heifer. The two children learning of this started there before him. The younger child was placing the 22 long cartridge in the rifle when it exploded, the shot taking effect in the older boy's heart. The lad fell saying "You've shot me, get the doctor--goodbye and tell all the rest goodbye." The mother and another son were in town at the time and the boy died before they reached home. The funeral was held Monday at Colo where the boy was laid to rest. The family have the deepest sympathy of the entire community.
