Mrs. Peter Orning, of Ames, died Sunday morning at her home from a heart ailment.

Mrs. Orning was 74, born Aug. 23, 1879, near Story City. She had lived in Ames since 1923.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Bethesda church in Ames with Rev. Fred M. Erickson officiating. Burial was in the Ames cemetery.

She was married to Peter Orning Sept. 9, 1897, near Story City. He preceded her in death in October, 1939.

Survivors are three sons, Edwin of Ames, A. Willis of Nashville, Tenn., and Dr. Arthur A. of Pittsburg; and two daughters, Mabel P. Orning of Ames and Mrs. Beatrice Peterson of Mt. Ayr; 10 grandchildren; and 6 sisters, namely, Mrs. Anna Soma of Fairmont, Minn, Mrs. Lena Benson, Story City; Mrs. Martha Larson, Clear Lake; Mrs. Cornelia Rod and Mrs. Amelia Wier, Story City; and Mrs. Agnes Schoonover, Colo.
