JACOB JACOBSON DIED AT ROLAND

HAD BEEN RESIDENT OF COUNTY FOR OVER SIXTY YEARS

Special to the Journal.
Roland, Oct. 1--Funeral services for Jacob C. Jacobson, 71, Howard township pioneer, who died at his home here Monday afternoon, were held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at Bergen church and were largely attended.

Mr. Jacobson had been a sufferer from heart trouble for two years and his death was not unexpected.

Of Norwegian descent, he was a native of Lisbon, Ill., where he was born March 1, 1858. He was a lad of ten when he with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claus Jacobson and their other children immigrated to Story county, traveling in a covered wagon. They settled on a farm near Roland and this community has since been his home.

He was engaged for a number of years in the harness business in Roland conducting a wagon shop for several years, was associated with his brother T. C. Jacobson in a mercantile firm a short while, and later was engaged in the concrete building business.

He was married November 9, 1877 to Anne Jacobson, who survives him. No children were born to this union, but they adopted a boy, J. S. Wilson of this place and raised him as their own.

He also leaves three sister, Mrs. O. J. Jacobson, Mrs. E. M. Rod and Mrs. K. K. Teig, and one brother, T. C. Jacobson, all of this place.

Mr. Jacobson was a friend to all his genital nature and loved and respected by young and old alike. He was a faithful member of Bergen Lutheran church and was always a regular attendant at the church services until his health forced him to remain at his home.
