Death of J. C. Burkhart.

John C. Burkhart, veteran of the civil war and for many years one of the most prominent residents of the northeast portion of the county, died at his home in Zearing Wednesday after an illness of several months. His illness had been so serious that his death occasions no surprise but regrets at the loss of a most worthy and useful citizen are no less. Mr. Burkhart was a native of Pennsylvania but he came to town as a young man and served three years as a member of Company A few years after the was he came to Nevada to live, and after remaining here for a time he bought his farm in Lincoln township and moved thereon. He was about 77 years of age and he and Mrs. Burkhart celebrated their golden wedding a few years ago, the occasion being made especially memorable by the marriage at the same time of their daughter Queen to Arthur Banks. Mr. Burkhart leaves a family of several children, all grown, and a host of most sincere friends.
