Mr. John Ferguson died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arthur Hemstock, after an illness of two or three weeks. Mr. Ferguson was one the early settlers in Polk county adjoining Story, and for many years more or less identified with the people and interests of the south part of the county. In years gone by he was a steady patron of the county fair and friendly with our people. For the past few years his home has been with his children here, in Chicago and California. He will be mourned by his family and kindly remembered by old friends and acquaintances.
