Obituary.

Died of paralysis on the 9th of September, 1890 at the residence of his son, C. W. Cook, after an illness of 8 days, Alonzo Cook, aged 81 years 11 months and 18 days. Mr. Cook was born in Newfane, Vermont, September 21st, 1808. He lived in Vermont until 1832, when he cam to Chicago, and became one of the early settlers of Illinois. In 1836 he married Mary Holton of Northfield, Massachusetts, who, with two children, Charles W. and Mary E. now Mrs. Loyd Cummings, is left to mourn their loss. In 1869 he came to Nevada township, Story Co., Iowa, where he located and remained until his death. The funeral services were conducted at the home by the writer, after which the remains, followed by many sympathizing friends, were laid to rest in the cemetery at Colo, Story Co., Iowa.
