....Mrs. Serene Salbreck, a young and lately married woman* of this place, died on Friday morning last, after a painful illness of four days. Her husband is in Minn. and knew nothing of her death and burial....

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Martin J. Solbrack and Sarah Serene Jacobs were married on 12 June 1886 in Roland, Story County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Oliver Jacobs and Serine Thorson.

Sarah's mother, Serine (Thorson) Jacobs, married secondly Ole Mathison. Consequently, many records refer to Sarah as Sarah Serene Mathison, not Jacobs.
