Martin Holland, Story City, Died
Martin O. Holland, 77, Story City, died at the Story City Memorial Hospital about 9 a.m. today. He had been a patient there for two weeks. He had been at the Sunset Home for the past 18 months.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Sunset Home Chapel and a 2 p.m. at the St. Petri Lutheran Church, The Rev. George C. Strum will officiate. The body will lie in state at the Larson Funeral Home in Story City until 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Story City Municipal cemetery.
He was born March 27, 1882 in Hamilton County and farmed northeast of McCallsburg for many years.
He is survived by a son, Curtis Henderson of McCallsburg; a sister, Mrs. Harry K. Henderson, of Story City; a brother, Ole Holand, of Dilke, Saskatchewan, Canada and five grandchildren. His wife, Emma died February, 1958.

Funeral services for Martin O. Holland, 77, Story City were held Friday afternoon, Jan. 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the Story City Sunset Home with the Rev. L. A. Mathre officiating, and at 2 p.m. form the St. Petri Lutheran Church with the Rev. George C. Strum officiating.
Burial was in the Story City municipal cemetery.
Pallbearers were Merle Elwick of Radcliffe; Berger Imsland of McCallsburg; Orrine Sevde of Ames, Peter Redling of Jewell, Melbourne Henderson and Robert Holland of Story City.
Martin Olous Holland, son of Paul and Martha Holland was born in Hamilton County, March 27, 1882 and died Jan. 13 at the Story City Memorial Hospital.
He was baptized and confirmed in the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City and attended rural schools near there. Mr. Holland farmed near Roland until 1916 when he moved to near McCallsburg.
On March 11, 1924 he was united in marriage to Emma Henderson. They lived on their farm and attended Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg until they retired in 1944 and moved to Story City. They became members of the St. Petri Church after moving to Story City.
Mr. Holland was preceded in death by his wife Feb. 4, 1958, and by his parents, and infant sister, two brothers, John and Carl and one sister, Gunhild.
He was a past board member of the Security Savings Bank and the National Farm Loan Association of McCallsburg and a member of the board of trustees of the St. Petri Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son Curtis, five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harry Henderson of Story City, and a brother, Ole of Dilke, Saskatchewan, Canada.
