"HENRY HOLLAND DIED

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from Duckworth funeral home in Ames for Henry Holland of Ames, formerly of this place, who passed away at the Mary Greeley Hospital at Ames after a short illness of 11 days, on Tuesday, March 6, 1945.

Henry Holland was born in Etna, Norway on August 23, 1866. He was the son of Sven and Gjori Holland and came to this country with them when a young man. He lived in this community for several years as well as in several other communities. He married Petra Holland, who survives him. He had been farming near Kelley, but he and his wife moved to Ames about 10 years ago where they have resided ever since.

He is survived by his wife and four children, Chester, Stanley, Leslie and Edith and two brothers, Oliver McClellan of St. Paul and Sam Holland of Hanska, Minn. His father, mother, two sisters, Mrs. Inger Thompson and Mrs. Helen Heggen, and three brothers, George, Tollef and Tom, preceded him in death.

Burial was made in the Roland cemetery, Rev. J. L. Knutson officiating. Mrs. E. G. Ritland sang two solos at the funeral. Pall bearers were Oscar G. Twedt, Ole Maland, J. M. Christian and A. J. Shold of Roland, J. E. Sampson of Ames & Tollef Haaland of McCallsburg.

Those in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar G. Twedt, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Shold, Mr. and Mrs. Amil Twedt, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Maland, Mrs. Bert Olson, Orlene Twedt and Miss Sylvia Thompson and John M. Christian, and Mr. and Mrs. Tollef Haaland and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Aasheim of McCallsburg, Halvor Fosse and Elizabeth Holland of Radcliffe, and Mrs. Helen Halverson and Gerald Osmundson of Des Moines, Mrs. Mattie Osmundson and Archie Osmundson of Webster City."
