Obituary from Memorial Services of Iowa, Ankeny, Polk County, Iowa:

Luvina May Alexander, 81 of Gilbert entered eternal rest into the arms of Jesus June 6, 2014.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., June 10, 2014, at New Life Church in Ames, Iowa (3505 S. Duff Ave).

A visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 9th also at the church.

Luvina was born November 29, 1932 to Ora and Adella (Beckett) Randolph in Argyle, Iowa.

She married Paul Wayne Varner June 7, 1950. To this union three children were born; Linda Varner Handsaker (Mark), David W. Varner (Gundel), and Luvina P. Varner Bull.

Luvina later married Robert E. Alexander December 31, 1958, and to this union three children were born; Robert E. Alexander Jr. (Carol), Albert L. Alexander, and Jay A. Alexander.

Luvina worked with the public, in retail most of her life—the last 29 years at North Grand Walmart in Ames.

She is survived by her children, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, a brother Russell L. Randolph (Bonnie), and several cousins and friends.

Luvina was preceded in death by her husband Robert Alexander, Sr. in 2012, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
