Sara Mabel Holder
Dec. 21, 1903 to Feb. 8, 1998Sara Mabel Holder, 94, of Nevada, died Sunday, Feb. 8, of heart failure at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, where she had resided for the past five years.
She was born Dec. 21, 1903, to John and Sophie (Nelson) Ingerson in Nevada, where she remained as a lifelong resident.
She married Carl Holder in Boone. She worked as a supervisor in the bindery department of Donnelley Marketing before retiring in 1969. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and the Donnelley Retiree Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Norma Christenson of Maple Grove, Minn., and Elaine Schumacher of Englewood, Fla.; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Leota Hohn of Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl in 1976; a son, Harold in 1988; and three grandsons.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Ellen Taube of Memorial Lutheran Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established with Homeward Hospice of Ames.
