Carl Holder, Nevada, died Tuesday at VA Hospital in Des Moines

NEVADA -- Carl A. Holder, 102 K Ave., died Tuesday evening at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines where he had been taken earlier in the day. He was 79.

Services will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home Friday, march 26 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Walter E. Lack officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.

Born July 24, 1896 in Nevada to John and Hannah Holder, he had been a resident here for the past 51 years. He was a retired builder and contractor at the time of his death. he was married to the time of his death. he was married to Sara Ingerson and was a member of the Lutheran Church. Holder was a World War I Veteran and also a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Sara; one son Harold of Nevada; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Schumacher of Olympia Fields, Ill. and Mrs. Norma Christenson of Crystal Village, Minn.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Rena Phillips of Nevada.
