JOHN W. SHALLEY

John W. Shalley of Marshalltown, age 77, passed away Tuesday evening, June 5 in Waterloo.

He was born March 3, 1896 in Nevada, the son of George and Sarah Shalley. He received his education and grew up in Nevada. On Oct. 16, 1920, he married Mary Beebe in Boone and they made their home on a farm north of Nevada until moving to Marshalltown in 1925.

Preceding him in death was his wife in March of this year; a daughter in infancy and a half brother and a half sister.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Buchwald of Waterloo and Mrs. Deloris Rose of Marshalltown; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the chapel of the Estel-Perrin Funeral Home in Marshalltown at 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, with burial in the Nevada Cemetery.
