MYRON HENRY BOTEN
Myron Henry Boten, 79, of Newton IA, died Tuesday evening, February 17, 1987, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines IA of cancer.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Rev. H. Eugene Cedarholm, pastor of the First Lutheran Church of Newton, will officiate. Burial will be in Nevada Cemettery, Nevada IA.
Friends were invited to call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Thursday. Visitation with the family was from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Boten's survivors include his wife, Ruth; two sons, Larry J. Boten of New Orleans LA and John Boten of Moline IL; a daughter, Mary (Mrs. David) Twedt of Newton; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne L. Boten of Nevada and Max Boten of Littleton CO; three sisters, Frances Carlsen of Newton, Ruth Millslagle of Creston IA and Opal Harlow of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Henry J. Boten and a sister, Margaret Boten.
Mr. Boten farmed near Nevada IA for 12 years then bought a farm north of Roland. He retired n 1976 and moved to Newton.
He was born Jan. 20, 1908, at Thomasboro IL to Alfred Henry and Minnie Louise Wallen Boten.
He graduated from Nevada High School in 1925 and was married to Ruth Mary Anderson Feb. 14, 1933, in Nevada.
