Funeral of Mrs. McDaniel Held Sunday Afternoon

Funeral services for Mrs. James McDaniel, 52, who died at her home here Thursday evening, were held Sunday afternoon at the Evangelical church aby her pastor, Rev. Wackerbarth, after which her body was laid to rest in the Nevada cemetery.

Sarah Janette McDaniel nee Fisher was born in Ohio, December 19, 1875 nd died at the family home in Nevada, Oct. 11, 1928 having reached the age of 52 years, 9 months and 12 days.

With her parents she came west and Sept. 13, 1899 she was united in marriage to James A. McDaniel. To this union nine children were born, five girls and four boys. The children are: Mae Belcher, Ellen Martin, Lester who died when only four years old, Florence, Zella, Donald, Raymond, Kenneth and Betty. All were present when their mother passed away. The family has lived in and around Nevada for the past 29 years.

Besides the children and the husband who mourn her loss Mrs. McDaniel has two sisters, one her twin, Lizzie Tillery and Euphema Zerkel both of Humansville, Mo., and one brother George Fisher of Blue Earth, Minn.

Mrs. McDaniel was converted in a revival meeting in Missouri in 1896 and joined the Methodist church. When coming to Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel united with the Friends church where they held their membership until about two years ago when they came into the Evangelical church.

Mrs. McDaniel's interests were largely centered in the home where a large family claimed her care and attention. The cares of her family came first and she served unselfishly, where now she is missed so much.

In spite of her home duties she found time for the W. C. T. U. of which she was a member for many years, and she was also busy in the Missionary Society of her church. In the church as well as in the home she gave her best.

Mrs. McDaniel has not been well for number of years. Goitre trouble drained her strength. During the spring it became evident that her condition was much worse and it was foung that anemia of the lungs had set in. She gradually became weaker until the end came Thursday evening when she quietly slipped out into the Spirit world.

About two weeks before her death, realizing that her hold on life was slipping and that soon she must pass into the great beyond, she said she was ready to go.

Gone? Yes, but not forgotten. Her life lives on in the lives of her children and they carry one her work.
