George Jordan, 93, of Huxley died Wednesday at the Story County Hospital in Nevada following an illness of one year.

Born in Iowa County, Iowa to Josiah and Elizabeth Mary Jordan, he had lived in Story county since 1908. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Jordan is surved by his wife, the former Isabel Johnson; by 2 sons, Harvey of Huxley and Lawrence od Ames; 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert Bell of Des Moines and Mrs. Allyn (Lola) Christenson of Madrid; by 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Mrs. Cora Durham of Reinbeck.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sons: Roy, Grant and Ronald.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10 at 1 p.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Merlin Norris officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
