Funeral Today for Mrs. Kimble
NEVADA--Funeral was to be today at Ryan Funeral Home here sor Mrs. Emily Kimble, 75, who died Sunday morning* after being accidentally burned at her home at 619 Main St., Ames, Friday night.
The Rev. David Ash was to be in charge of the service with burial in Nevada Cemetery.
Mrs. Kimble had lived in Ames about 15 years. She moved here after the death of her husband in 1941. They had lived on a farm north of Nevada.
Survivors are son Lowell, Springfield, Ill.; and daughters Mrs. Gylon Mann, Nevada, and Mrs. Ada Kubite, Belmond.
Mrs. Kimble apparently was heating grease in a frying pan when it caught fire early Friday evening. Ames Fire Chief Kenneth Taylor said she apparently picked up the pan attempting to put out the flames and spilled the burning grease on her clothing. She then ran to the bathroom where she fainted and was found by L. E. Fogel who lives on the floor below.
Fogel said he heard her fall to the floor and ran upstairs to find out what had happened. He removed her smoldering clothing and then called police who carried Mrs. Kimble to a waiting ambulance.
