Final Rites Held Here for Former Nevada Woman

The final rites for Miss Clara Christensen were held Sunday afternoon at the Morfoot Funeral Home and followed by interment in the Nevada cemetery.

The funeral home was filled with relatives and friends.

The floral offerings were many and beautiful. She is kindly remembered by a wide circle of friends.

Clara Batilda Christensen, a daughter of Charles and Mary Christensen, was born in Oxford, N. J., Feb. 13, 1878. She came to Nevada at about the age of one where she lived until twenty years old. She then made her home in Davenport, Iowa, where she was supervisor of the State Orphan's Home. She remained in that position until five years ago when she moved to Maywood, Ill., to be near her sister, Miss Alma Christensen.

She passed away October 15, 1941, at the age of 63. She leaves one brother, Chris Christensen of Eugene, Oregon; one sister, Alma Christensen of Hines Hospital, Hines, Ill., a cousin, Mrs. Carrie Peterson of Nevada.

She was a staunch member of the church. She united with the Church of Christ in Nevada about 1900.
