From Nevada Journal November 16, 1949

Frank C. Sutherland was born Nov. 24, 1869, south of Nevada on the old Silliman farm. He was the oldest of eight children born to Anna and Dave Sutherland.

He spent all his life as a young man around Nevada. On Feb. 18, 1892, he was united in marriage to Ollie Ray of Maxwell. They began their married life southeast of Nevada on a farm, where their four children were born, one passing away in infancy.

Later in years they moved to Nevada and Mr. Sutherland was a livestock buyer. He and Clarence Markland bought cattle together.

In 1935, he and the wife moved to Chattanooga, Tenn., to be near their daughter, Freda. Mrs. Sutherland died March 31, 1942.

He never forgot Nevada. Every year he came back for a visit about this time.
