Laura Christine Haugsted

Laura Chrsitne Haugsted, 97, of Nevada, died Friday, march 7, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. She had been a resident st Oak Park Manor since May of 1974.

She was born June 9, 1882, in rural Nevada, the daughter of Paul and Karen Larsen Nelson. She received her education of the Nevada schools.

On June 25, 1902, she married Lars Haugsted.

A lifelong resident of the Nevada area, Mrs. Haugsted was a member of the Nevada Christian Church.

She is survived by two sons, William of Nevada and Clarence of Ames; three daughters, Hazel Jacobson of Tacoma, Wash., Beulah McConnell and Velda Haugsted of Nevada; one foster son, Allen of St. Peter, Minn.; a sister, Nettie Paulson of Bethany Manor, Story City; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1954, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada. Pastor William Bass will officiate. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
