Burkhart rites held Wednesday

Charlie Carl Burkhart, 81, Nevada, died about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Riverside Manor Nursing Home after a five-month illness.

He was born in Illinois.

Mr. Burkhart was a lifetime resident of Nevada. He had been employed as a contractor in the Nevada and Ames communities. He was a member of the Nevada Memorial Lutheran Church.

Mr. Burkhart is survived by a son, Carl Burkhart, Route 1; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Klucas, 1422 Douglas Ave.; four grandchildren; a brother, John Burkhart, Des Moines, and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Hines, Algona, and Mrs. Clara Handsaker of Nevada.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Ryan's Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Henry Myklebust, Memorial Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established. Gifts may be left with the State Bank and Trust Co., Nevada.
