Nov. 3, 1902-April 15, 1995

Ivin S. Elliott, 92, of Nevada died Saturday of an aortic aneurysm at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Nevada United Methodist Church, NEvada, with the Rev. James King officiating. Burial will be in teh Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Ivin S. Elliott was born in Cambridge to Ira Ivin and Lottie Fidelia (Scott) Elliott. He married Esther K. Brown on March 12, 1927, in Nevada. he had moved to Nevada in 1978 from Huxley where he had resided for two years after moving from his farm in Cambridge.

A farmer, he retired in 1973.

He was a member og the Nevada United Methodist Church; was a past member and president of the Shipley Consolidated School Board of Education; and was a leader in the Union 4-H Club for many years. His hobbies had included baseball and bowling, which he and his wife took up after retirement. He bowled until he was 91 years of age.

He is survived by his wife of Nevada; two sons, Lonnie Elliott of West Des Moines and Ronald Elliott of Bangor, Maine; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Elliott of Ames and Leo Elliott of Pharr, Texas; and one sister Elva Schuler of Zearing.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, four sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be this afternoon and evening from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Nevada United Methodist Church. Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, is in charge of arrangements.
