Helene Dorothy Hansen
Dec. 16, 1901 to Feb. 28, 1998

Helene Dorothy Hansen, 96, of Hudson, died Feb. 26 at the Friendship Manor Home in Hudson.

She was born Dec. 16, 1901, to Alfred and Huldah (Hanson) Fawcett in Collins. She attended grade school and high school in Nevada.

On May 7, 1920, she married Clayton F. Hansen in Boone County. She was a homemaker as she and her husband raised their children in Nevada. In 1990 she moved to Hudson where she resided at Wintergreen Apartments for a few years. Following this, she became a resident at Friendship Manor. She enjoyed golfing and playing cards; especially bridge. She was a member of the Rachel Circle for the Methodist Church in Nevada.

Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Gertrude Hansen of New Richmond and Ginger Pape of Missouri; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 28, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home, Hudson Chapel, with Pastor Thomas Nustad officiating. Interment will be April 4 at 11 a.m. at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada with graveside rites officiated by Pastor James King. Memorials may be made to the Story County Veteran's Fund or the Nevada Public Library. Local assistance was given with funeral arrangements by Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada.
