Martin C. Paulson
May 5, 1902-March 24, 1991Martin Chris Paulson, 88, of Iowa City, died of leukemia March 24, 1991 at his home.
He was born in Nevada to Chris and Anna (Larson) Paulson. He married Melba Darling Dec. 24, 1924, at Nevada. He was an Army and Navy Veteran of World War II and also served n the National Guard. He lived in Ames from 1929 to 1973 and was a bookkeeper and clerk for property and management at the D.O.T. in Ames for 40 years.
He was known as the family historian and kept up-to-date records of family members. He was a member of Gloria Del Lutheran Church in Iowa City; past commander and lifetime member of the Ames American LegionPost #37, a member of Arcadia Lodge #249 A.F & A.M., Ames, and a member of the Iowa Geological Society.
Survivors include his wife, Melba, of Iowa City; two daughters, Ardis J. O'Dell of Terre Haute, Ind., and Neva L. Banholzer of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Ivan W. Paulson of Durham, Calif.; one sister, Doris Mooers of Ames, five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Services were held March 28 at Chet Ryan Mortuary. Burial was at the Nevada Cemetery. A memorial hund has been established.
