January 24, 1920 - December 5, 2013

Archie Jerome Maland was born January 24, 1920 to Sampson and Martha (Sorphus) Maland in Huxley, Iowa. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Ankeny VFW. Archie married Doris Robinett on August 5, 1946. He farmed for many years near Huxley before going to work for H & F Builders in Ames. Archie liked to take things apart and put back together, mow grass, and he loved dogs.

Archie is survived by one son, Randy and his wife Marcia Maland, of Redwood Falls, Minnesota; one daughter, Debra Andrews, of Ames; one sister, Bea Hopson; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; his son, Dennis Maland; his daughter-in-law, Pam Maland; his son-in-law, Robert Andrews; four brothers; and four sisters.
