Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Donald E. Johnson was born January 25, 1928 to John R. and Clara (Foss) Johnson in Amsterdam, New York. He married Arlene Husted in Johnstown, New York in 1947. Don worked as a meat cutter for many years and joined the UFCW Local One as a union representative in 1975. Don worked there until his retirement in 1987, after which he enjoyed many years with his family, church, two senior groups and his pets. For the last five years he and his wife resided with his daughter, Donna and son-in-law, Craig. Don resided for a period of time at Bethany Manor where he died Saturday evening from complications of Alzheimer's.

Don passed away December 8, 2013 at Bethany Manor in Story City at 85 years of age.

Don is survived by his wife of 66 years, Arlene; his children, Donna (Craig) Gallt, Linda (Joe) Wehrle, John (Maria) Johnson and Sherri (Jeff) Garstka; nine grandchildren; and thirty-three great-grandchildren.
