Services held for Nellie Irene Muse, 85
Nellie Irene Muse, 85, of Nevada died Saturday, Feb. 7, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada of Congesitve Heart Failure. She had been at the care center since December.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada with Dr. Fred
C. Danforth of the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ officiating.Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.
Obituary
Nellie Muse ws born Jan. 9, 1913 in Green City, MO to Nathan Enoch and Carrie (Trainer) White. She had been a resident of the Story County area for the past 48 years and was a graduate of Colo High School. She was united in marriage with Kenneth Merle Muse on July 30, 1938 in Bethany MO. She was co-owner of the M & H Cage and was also a cook for the Home Cafe for 18 years, along with cooking at an area school.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, in 1985; a sister; and an infant brother.
Survivors include a daughter, Helene (Smith) Comstock of Baxter; two sons, Richard E. Smith of Marshalltown and Kenneth C. Muse of Boone; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
A memorial fund has been established.
