Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Normand F. Edwards was born October 21, 1929 to Cecil F. and Yvonne M. (Brouand) Edwards in Ames, Iowa. He served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. Normand and Clarice Hillebo were married on June 8, 1952 at Palestine Lutheran Church, rural Huxley. He worked as a mechanical technician and was a member of American Legion Post #260 and the National Rifle Association. Normand was a gunsmith and gun collector and also enjoyed woodworking.

Normand passed away October 22, 2013 at 84 years of age.

Normand is survived by his wife, Clarice Edwards of Slater; his daughter, Jeanette (Kenneth) Okland and their children, Kristi (Lon) Monahan with McKrea, Adra and Kenna, Nicole (Tim) Elliott with Hannah and Peyton, Jerrod Okland and Elena with Oscar, and Mindy (Travis) Nicholson with Cooper; his son, Marvin (Lori) Edwards and their children, Jeremy (Danielle) Edwards with Blake and Jacey, and Sheri (Lenny) Keltner with Logan, Robby and Olivia; grandson, Steve (Nancy) Hauge with Bailey and Nick; and his sister, Iris (Francis) Harper of Woodbine, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three children, Linda, Daniel and Carla.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to Slater American Legion Post #260, PO Box 482, Slater, IA 50244.
