Wesley "Wes" Andrew Valline, 73 of Nevada died on Thursday, September 19, 2013 surrounded by his family. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 4 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 5th Street in Nevada. Burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.

Wes was born on August 14, 1940 in Nevada to Haynard D. and Mary C. (Brady) Valline. He was a 1959 graduate of Nevada High School. On November 14, 1959, Wes was united in marriage to Kathleen Mae Carney at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada. Wes was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Ames. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, spending time with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and spending days with his grand dog Libby.

Wes is survived by his wife, Kathleen Valline of Nevada; two daughters Tamara (Joe) Ackerman of Nevada and Tina (Don) Arends of Newton; two sons Todd (Annie) Valline of Elko, NV and Troy Valline of Nevada; five grandchildren Andrew (Kelly) Ackerman, Jacob Valline, Talia Valline, Renee (Ken) Martin and Benjamin (Caitlyn) Ackerman; three great-grandchildren Jackson, Gabriella, and Penelope; a sister Rita (Dave) Ferneau of Malcom; and a brother Rick Valline of Henderson, NV.
Wes was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers Ron, Lanney, Haynard Jr. "Butch", and Michael.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Wes.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Wes and his family.
