Max R. Cook
Max R. Cook, 64, of 117 South Franklin, Ames, died Friday, Nov. 9, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.
Born Sept. 20, 1915 in Nevada to Ray and Grace Mayo Cook, he was a 1933 graduate of Nevada High School.
Mr. Cook married Blanche William Aug. 3, 1957 in Cedar Falls.
He was in the road construction business in Ames and was a 25-year member of the Ames Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche; five daughters, Mrs. Robert "Doretta" Philpot of Denver, Colo., Shirlene Cook of Aurora, Colo., Mrs. John "Linda" Musille of Mountain View, Mo., Jackie Sutherland of Nevada, and Sally Martin of Lafayette, Colo.; tow brothers, Ray Cook of Ames and Kenneth Cook of Loveland, Colo.; one sister Margaret Staker of Eagle Rock, Mo., and five grand children.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Services will be Monday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada, with Pastor John Chadwick officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.
