WILLIAM E. SMITH

William E. Smith, for many years an Ames citizen, died at the Mary Greeley hospital Monday* at the age of nearly 71 years.

He was born March 4, 1870, and was for many years a farmer near Kelley, and also followed carpentry in Ames.

Surviving him is a daughter, Mrs. Stuck of Rock Island, Ill., and three sons, Wayne of Detroit, Aubrey of Rock Island, and Floyd of Ames.

After funeral services the remains were taken to Laurens for burial.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: William Everett Smith died on 24 February 1941. He was the son of Samuel Harrison Smith and Martha Ethel Cravens.
