Stella Van Doren
Dec. 11, 1910-Aug. 3, 2001

Stella Van Doren, 90, of Ames, died Thursday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames of cerebral vascular accident. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Ames Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Larry D. LaVelle of First United Methodist Church officiating.

Stella Van Doren was born Dec. 11, 1910, in Laurens, the daughter of Walter and Zora (Smith) Hopkins. She graduated from Laurens High School. She married Elwin W. (Al) Van Doren June 27, 1936, in Fort Dodge. She was a homemaker. She had lived in Ames since 1955. She also had lived in Mason City. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Social Order of the Beauceant, and was a life member of Ladies Shriners.

She is survived by three sisters, Lucy Grewell of Bloomingdale, Ill., Betty Grewell of San Francisco and Doris Burgnone of Roland Heights, Calif.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Adams Funeral Home in Ames.

Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
