Betty Ann (Johnson) Stoll was born February 2, 1923, in Kelley, Iowa. Her parents were M. Serene and Margaret (Maland) Johnson. Betty was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley. She graduated from Huxley High School in 1940. Betty married Jerrold M. Stoll in 1940 at Northwood, Iowa. To this union seven children were born.

Betty felt her life was blessed with her family and their activities. Betty's deep and abiding Christian faith sustained her throughout her life. Betty was an excellent baker and seamstress. She was an avid reader. She also enjoyed her acreage-it’s various gardens and timberland.

Betty is survived by her son Steven Stoll of Madrid; daughters Nancy Stoll of Iowa Falls, Carolyn (Michael) Carpenter of New Carlisle, Ohio, Marsha (Mark) Stoll-Kenney of Ames, and Beverly (Robert) Cue of Altoona.

Betty's eleven grandchildren include Gerry (Janet) Stoll, Jeff (Jodi) Evans, Connie (Bob) Hornfeck, Carrie Evans, Leslie (Kyle) DeBrower, Samantha (Marco) Flores, Jodie (Mark) Holzmer, Stacey (Luke) Larson, Alex (Heather) Cue, Jeremy Cue, and Owen Cue.

Betty had eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She also had many nieces and nephews.

Those preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jerrold; an infant son; her daughter, Susan Evans; her son-in-law, Jim Evans; her daughter-in-law Linda Stoll; her brother, Orland Johnson; and her sister, Ruth Severson.

Betty's children truly loved her and honored her. They could not have had a more loving, more generous, or more encouraging mother. Betty taught her children to work hard, to be kind, to be fair, and to be forgiving. She taught by example and was an exemplary role model. Betty's children will miss her guidance and her sense of humor.

Memorials may be made to Fjeldberg Lutheran Church and/or Bethany Manor in Story City. Adams Funeral Home in Ames is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences and photos may be shared at www.adamssoderstrum.com
