ROBERT M. HARRIS

Funeral services for Robert M. Harris, 86, Story City, were held Monday morning, Nov. 20 at 10:30 a.m. from Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Duane O'Tool in charge.

Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery with Vernon Munson, Roy Gaard, Willie Lykins, Joel Olson, Don Krumm, Merle Crawford, and Darwin Johnson serving ss casket bearers.

Robert M. Harris, son of John and Mary Harris was born Oct 15, 1912 at Jolley, Iowa. On June 8, 1935 he was united in marriage to Leciel M. Grant, who passed away on Dec. 29, 1971 in Story City.

The Harris family had lived in Story City since 1941, where Mr. Harris was manager of the Iowa Continental Telephone Company at Story City. Later, he became employed in the maintenance department of the Dept of Transportation. He retired from D.O.T. on Dec. 31, 1970.

On March 25, 1974 he married Vera Hoke. Mr. Harris passed away at his home in Story City Friday morning, Nov. 17 from a heart attack.

He is survived by his wife, Vera; three sons: Robert L. Harris and wife Connie of Story City, Dennis E. Harris and wife Betty of Marshalltown, and David G. Harris and wife Renee of Mesa, Ariz.; also two step sons and daughters-in-law, M. Ronald and Pat Hoke of Ryan, Iowa, Thomas H. and Pat Hoke of Jacksonville, Fla.; and one step daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl Sue and John Parris of Ames; and thirteen grandchildren.

Mr. Harris is also survived by one brother and two sisters: Mrs. Eva Baskeville and Mrs. Elizabeth Howard, both of Rockwell City, Iowa, and Ben Harris of Friendly
