MR. JOHN G. YOUNG, father of Mrs. W. M. Greeley, was stricken with paralysis on Sunday last and died Monday night. Mr. Young reached the advanced age of ninety years in October last, and for a number of years was more or less an invalid. The funeral took place yesterday at 2 p. m., from the residence of Mrs. and Mrs. Greeley. In the death of a patriarch of such ripe years, and so ready and willing to cross the dark river, there should be no grief, for beyond the water life is painless and full of peace. But nature would be false to itself if sorrow did not come to the hearts that watched so tenderly and lovingly at the bedside of the departed husband and father. And in this hour of affliction sympathetic hearts go out to thm in all tenderness, and extend sincere condolence and commiseration.
