Eunice Mansfield
July 22, 1927 - December 25, 2012Eunice M. Mansfield, 85, of Maxwell, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Eunice was born July 22, 1927, at Defiance, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur L. and Myrtle Faye (Cox) Ahrenholtz. Eunice graduated from Manilla High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Lyle E. Mansfield on August 18, 1951 at Manilla, Iowa. Lyle preceded Eunice in death on March 15, 2007. Eunice was a homemaker. She served as a 4-H Leader for over 20 years and enjoyed babysitting. She was an active member of the Maxwell United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Eunice is survived by two sons: Craig (Betty) Mansfield of Maxwell, Iowa, Keith Mansfield of Maxwell, Iowa; a daughter: Cheryl (Jerry) Bassett of Oviedo, Florida; two grandchildren: Royal and Taylor; three step-grandchildren: Tori, Tracie, Tammie; one great-granddaughter; six step great-grandchildren; and one sister: Joanne Grace Meyer of Atlantic, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother: Don Ahrenholtz; a sister: Doris Klein; and two brothers-in-law: Clifford Klein and Arthur Meyer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Maxwell United Methodist Church. Interment will be 2:30 PM in the Manilla Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maxwell First Responders and to the Maxwell United Methodist Church.
The Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is in charge of arrangements.
