Isabel Lois Larson
January 9, 1924 - August 21, 2011

Isabel Lois Larson, 87 of Huxley, formerly of Nevada, died on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29 at Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th Street in Nevada with Pastor David R. Burling officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Isabel was born on January 9, 1924 in Story County to Conard S. and Jessie Bernice (Blickensderfer) Swanson. She was a 1941 graduate of Fernald High School and attended AIB in Des Moines. On May 12, 1944, Isabel married George Larson at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fernald. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Des Moines and a 50-year member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Isabel loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed genealogy, and was an avid reader.

Isabel is survived by a son, David Larson of Des Moines; 2 daughters, Christine Brooks of Overland Park, KS and Camille (Alan) Snedden of Normal, IL; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on March 21, 1986, and a sister Norma Swanson on March 21, 2011.

A memorial fund has been established in Isabel's name for the Ballard Creek Community in Huxley.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with Isabel and her family.
