Charlotte Mae Sandve
December 20, 1928 - April 7, 2012
ObituaryCharlotte Mae Wierson Sandve, 83, of Ames, died on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Israel Family Hospice House of natural causes. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 439 Main Street in Jewell with burial to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Randall. Public visitation will be held at Stevens Memorial Chapel on Monday evening, April 9, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Charlotte was born on December 20, 1928 in Randall, IA; the daughter of Marion and Cordelia Chelsvig Wierson. She attended school in Randall and graduated in May of 1946. Charlotte married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth T. Sandve on August 9, 1946 in Elmore, MN. Kenneth preceded her in death on December 31, 1985. She manufactured medical devices at Bourns in Ames until her retirement in 1991.
Charlotte loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, watching people dance, puzzles, playing dominoes and BINGO. She was a member of Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley.
Charlotte is survived by her children Charlene (Pete) Dickerson of Jewell, Tom (Connie) Sandve of Ames and Helga Rogers of Marshalltown; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 3 sisters, Norma (Glen) Stevens and Helen Swenson, both of LeRoy, MN and Marlene (Mort) Kellogg of Taopi, MN and a brother, Jerry (Margaret) Wierson of Ostrander, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sons, Martin and Jacob Sandve, a great-grandson, Zayden Dickerson and a sister, JoEtta Dohlman.
As a show of sympathy, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
