Elizabeth L. Fremming
BORN: January 8, 1918
DIED: January 25, 2012
LOCATION: Story City, Iowa
Elizabeth Larsina Fremming was born January 8, 1918 to Nels and Elsie (Knudson) Peterson in Randall, Iowa. She was baptized at North St. Petri Lutheran Church east of Randall and confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church. Elizabeth graduated Randall High School in 1935. Elizabeth then attended Fort Dodge Business College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Following her graduation she was employed by Fort Dodge Laboratories; which remains in business today. While in Fort Dodge, she was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. It was through her church membership that she met Clinton Roy Fremming. They were married at her parent's home on November 6, 1944.
Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Fremming established their home in Annapolis, Maryland where Mr. Fremming was on the staff at the United States Naval Academy. While in Annapolis, Elizabeth was employed by the secretarial staff of then Maryland Governor Herbert E. O'Connor. In 1946 she returned to Randall, with her son David, and resided with her parents until their deaths.
In January of 1954 she became an employee of the Fellows, Rosebrook and Schancke Medical Clinic in Ames, Iowa. She was a 34 year employee of that firm; retiring in 1988.
A long time member of Elim Lutheran Church, Elizabeth sang in the church choir and was a member of the ladies circle and attended bible studies.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her brother John Peterson of Des Moines; her sister Margaret Warren of St. Petersburg, Florida; and her granddaughters Andrea Lynn and Rachel Marie.
Elizabeth passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Bethany Manor at 94 years of age.
She is survived by her son David (Barbara) Fremming of Ankeny, Iowa; and her grandsons Brian (Jeanne) Fremming of Memphis, Tennessee and Brad (Laura) Fremming of Omaha, Nebraska. Also surviving are her great-granddaughters Makalya Mae Fremming and Adelynn Leigh Fremming, both of Omaha; her nieces Sarah Rhadert of St. Petersburg, Florida, Joyce Whitcomb of Davenport, Iowa, and Nancy Solberg of Jewell, Iowa; and nephews Paul Warren of Ames and Robert Peterson of Des Moines.
