Lamerne Weiland Mohn

BORN: August 15, 1916

DIED: January 25, 2012

LOCATION: Toledo, Iowa

Lamerne Caroline Weiland Mohn was born August 15, 1916 to Herman and Minnie (Schulke) Schuelke {note: maiden name is correct} in Cherokee, Iowa. Lamerne was confirmed in March of 1931 at Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey, Minnesota. She married Henry Weiland October 5, 1940 in Comfrey. He passed away July 3, 1978. Lamerne and Arnold Mohn were married August 24, 1985 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Alta. They moved to Story City in 1997.

Lamerne was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Boone, Iowa and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, ceramics, and playing cards.

Lamerne passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Carrington Place in Toledo, Iowa at 95 years of age.

Lamerne is survived by her husband Arnold of Story City; her sons Dale (Jackie) Weiland of Tama, Iowa and Doug (Judy) Weiland of Garden City, Iowa; eight grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; her brothers Ewald Schuelke of Comfrey, Lester Schuelke of Richland, Wisconsin, and Arthur Schuelke of Big Bend, Wisconsin; and her sister Myra Coburn of Marshall, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Henry; her daughter Gloria Weiland; and her brothers Enno Schuelke and Albert Schuelke.
